We're excited to extend our April challenges into the month of May, keeping the momentum going until NAMIWalks Indiana. NAMIWalks Indiana brings together people of all ages to combat stigma, raise funds, and promote awareness of mental health conditions. This annual walk is our largest event and biggest fundraiser.

NAMIWalks Indiana takes place across the state, in the heart of central Indiana as a statewide walk and in regional communities with local NAMI affiliates.

Participants like you are the heart of NAMIWalks. NAMIWalks is about people who want to see a future where treatment is accessible, community is available, and in which there is Mental Health for All.

Experience

NAMIWalks Indiana takes place in downtown Indianapolis at Celebration Plaza at White River State Park. This will serve as our start/finish line and walkers will enjoy a beautiful 2.65 mile route around the canal.

Where should I park?

Parking, including handicap parking, is available in the White River State Park underground garage at 650 West Washington Street for an hourly rate.

Directions:

From Interstate 65 Southbound

From I-65, take the exit marked Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street to West Street (Exit 114).
Drive south approximately one mile to Washington Street.
Turn right (west) on Washington Street (one-way street).

From Interstate 70

From I-70, take the West Street exit (Exit 79).
Drive north approximately one mile to Washington Street.
Turn left (west) on Washington Street (one-way street).

To the Parking Garage

After turning on to Washington Street from West Street, make an immediate right turn into the underground parking garage for the Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum and the NCAA.
Celebration Plaza at White River State Park is located west of the underground parking garage. When you exit the garage, cross the foot bridge over the canal.

What should I bring?

Come prepared in your comfiest walking clothes best suited for the day's weather. You can bring your own hydration and caffiene, but water and snacks will be provided at the refreshment station. Teams are welcome to dress in matching colors or bring their own signs. A poster making station will be available at the walk.

Limited seating is available at Celebration Plaza. Consider bringing a blanket or lawn chairs for your team to hang out on the lawn during the event's festivities.

What time is registration?

Registration will open up at 10am. After registration, feel free to check out vendors until our opening ceremony which will start at 10:50am.

How do I get a t-shirt?

Any registered participant that raises $100+ will receive a NAMIWalks T-shirt, sizes are first come, first serve.

How long is the route?

The full route is 2.65 miles

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes! Be sure to bring hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen as well.

What if there’s rain in the forecast?

Our event is rain or shine! However, it may be canceled only in cases of severe weather. We will send out an email the morning of the walk if we are experiencing severe weather.

Can I bring a stroller, wheelchair, wagon?

Yes!

Do I need to register my kids?

Yes, everyone must register! You can register online or sign a waiver on walk day.

Who should I make a check out to?

All checks should be made out to NAMI Indiana. Credit card donations will be taken on walk day via the walk website and you can turn in cash/checks donations on the day of the event.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Leashed dogs are allowed at the event.
